Initial Oral Examination
The dentists, hygienists and friendly staff at our dental offices offer exceptional patient care and focus on preventative dentistry. Routine exams and cleaning are an essential part of good oral hygiene and help to avoid costly and painful dental treatment due to decay, gum and periodontal disease.
Good oral hygiene is an important factor in a patient’s overall well-being. Recent research suggests that bacteria and inflammation associated with gum disease may play an important role in major health issues such as heart disease. Regular dental exams and cleaning are crucial to preventing gum disease and maintaining a healthy smile.
During the exam, your dentist will perform a complete visual inspection of the oral cavity and review of x-rays to identify decay or disease. Your hygienist will gently remove plaque and calculus, the main cause of decay and periodontal disease. The American Dental Association recommends cleanings at least every 6 months for optimal function and health.
All of our offices are equipped with state of the art Digital Radiography machines to reduce the exposure to our patients considerably ensuring your care is a safe as possible.
