A non-invasive dental treatment, tooth whitening breaks down into oxygen molecules that work into your tooth enamel and dentin to break up stains. It is most successful when the teeth are healthy and can vary from individual to individual therefore your dentist will evaluate your teeth prior to the procedure.
Our offices offer take-home whitening. For take-home whitening, your dentist will take an impression during your first visit from which custom trays will be developed. At the second visit, you will be fitted with the custom trays and receive whitening gel and instructions to perform the treatment at home. The procedure takes 30 minutes once or twice a day for two weeks.
Tooth whitening is not permanent and a touch-up may be needed every few years. Avoiding coffee, tea, certain foods and smoking will help maintain your sparkling white smile. Whitening refill kits are available for your custom take-home trays.
