Dental Emergency, Emergency Dentist | When To Seek Professional Care
Learn how to distinguish between a dental emergency and a matter you can handle at home.
Learning When to Seek Care | Emergency Dentist | Dental Treatment
It can be easy to discount oral health as a major component of your overall health. However, injuries and infections of the mouth can be some of the most serious. The key to resolving dental emergencies is immediate action. However, it can be difficult to determine whether or not you really need to go to your dentist’s office. Sometimes, you can solve your problem most effectively at home. For example, you can ease minor cavity pain by rinsing with warm saltwater. You can also soothe other minor toothaches with over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. To list, conditions that require immediate medical attention include the following:
- Dental Abscesses
- An Avulsed or Knocked Out Tooth
- Loose or Broken Teeth
- Severe Chipping or Cracking of Teeth
- Significant Missing Portion of a Tooth
If you are experiencing severe oral pain, then contact an emergency dentist right away. Even with matters that are not urgent, it is often a good idea to call your dentist to confirm the correct plan of action. If you are not sure if you need to physically be seen, our offices can schedule you a virtual appointment with one of our doctors using your computer or smartphone. Some situations patients can often manage at home include:
- Minor Chipping and Cracking Without Accompanying Pain
- Slight Toothache
- Minor Filling, Crown, or Bridge Issues
- Embedding of Food Between Teeth
Curbing the Spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic | Emergency Dentist | Emergency Dental Care
Even as Governor DeWine’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic changes along with the spread of the virus, the dentists from Dr. Marino & Associates will continue to offer the same quality emergency dental care services. Though we have closed our offices for all elective dental and cosmetic procedures, you can still count on us for reliable emergency treatment and to prioritize your health and safety. To keep our facilities as safe as possible, we have removed all coffee stations, magazines, and children’s toys from waiting areas across all locations. Additionally, we have reserved the hours of 1PM to 3PM each Wednesday for our elderly patients and patients with particularly vulnerable immune systems.
To comply with the direction of both state and national health officials, we ask that patients do not bring any friends or family members to appointments. Patients also have the option to wait in their cars after checking in to keep up social distancing practices. Our efforts will also include the regular screening of all patients and staff upon entry for cough, shortness of breath, and fever. In addition, we will sanitize surfaces in all offices frequently each day in all locations.
Our team takes pride in offering an exclusive offer for emergency dental care services. Our patients can pay just $149 for an emergency dental exam, dental X-ray, and simple tooth extraction. Speed up the pain relief and healing processes, improve your health, and take advantage of this exclusive offer.
Payment Options | Emergency Dentist
