In many cases of damaged teeth, a dentist glues custom-shaped pieces of plastic or porcelain, or cosmetic veneers, to the front of teeth for a natural, healthy look. A dentist customizes a patient’s porcelain laminates by working from an impression of a patient’s tooth or teeth for a custom and natural-looking result. A patient’s dentist will place the permanent veneers with glycerin or water, glue the veneers and then cleanse the teeth with chemicals to secure a bond. A dentist will not be able to change veneers’ color after gluing. Following the application of the glue, the dentist will use a beam of light to harden the adhesive.
