Carlo Marino, DDS
President, State Valley Dental
Dr. Carlo Marino, DDS, was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University in 1990, where he also met his future wife, Dr. Angela Marino, also a dentist in the practice. Following dental school, he completed a general practice residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Marino has led a practice recognized multiple times as Akron’s Community Choice Award’s #1 Dental Clinic, TopDentists in Cleveland Magazine, TopDentists in Akron Life Magazine, Akron’s Business Hall of Fame, and Neighborhood Faves. As owner, he is committed to the belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality dental care. He has dedicated his career to advanced continuing education in dental implant placement and restoration and, together with his team, has helped place more than 12,500 dental implants.
Dr. Marino is a member of the Thommen Medical Lecture Team and Advisory Board, representing a global leader in Swiss-engineered implant technology. He and his team can provide full-arch tooth replacement, offering solutions that restore an entire upper or lower set of teeth using four to six dental implants.
He takes great pride in maintaining exceptional standards across all affiliated locations, ensuring each office is staffed by highly skilled professionals and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital radiography and, in select locations, cone beam scanners. All practices adhere to strict OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
Dr. Marino is also a member of The Ohio State University President’s Club for Philanthropic Leadership. The practices are also proud supporters of the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation and Fill This House, a local faith based non profit for foster children.
Outside of the office, Dr. Marino enjoys spending time with his wife and their three sons—Dr. Michael Marino, who is also part of the practice, Steven, and Anthony—as well as his daughter-in-law, Monica. His hobbies include saltwater fishing, boating, restoring classic cars, and traveling.
Michael Marino DDS
A Northeast Ohio native, Dr. Michael Marino is excited to return to his hometown community to provide exceptional dental care. Dr. Marino graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he served on his class Executive Board. During dental school, he was honored to be selected as OSU’s Team Dentist, treating student athletes and fabricating custom game-day mouthguards.
Dr. Marino continued his education by completing a General Practice Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. During his residency, he gained extensive experience managing patients with complex medical histories and dental trauma cases. He also spent several months at the Hines VA learning advanced surgical procedures, including dental implant placement, from the Oral Surgery team. To further expand his implant expertise, Dr. Marino completed additional training with Thommen Medical and has also taken continuing education courses through the Pikos Institute, where he gained exposure to advanced concepts in implant dentistry, including bone grafting and esthetic treatment planning.
In addition to implant dentistry, Dr. Marino has received training in Botox therapy for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. Botox treatment can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also offering relief for TMJ discomfort, headaches, and teeth grinding (bruxism). Dr. Marino is a proud member of the American Dental Association and Ohio Dental Association and is dedicated to helping patients feel confident in both their oral health and smile.
Outside of the office, Dr. Marino enjoys hiking, fishing, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family, especially his wife, Monica. He looks forward to helping his patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Terrence Chung, DDS
Dr. Terrence Chung has practiced dentistry for over 26 years and has proudly been recognized as one of Beacon’s Best Dentists for numerous years in a row. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992 before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery training at the University of Michigan in 1996. Following graduation, he completed a one-year dental residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he gained valuable experience treating a diverse patient population, including many with complex medical conditions.
Dr. Chung has been with State Valley Dental since 2003. While he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he has pursued advanced continuing education in dental implant placement and restoration through Thommen Medical. He also has a strong interest in endodontics, commonly known as root canal therapy, helping patients relieve pain and preserve their natural teeth whenever possible. Dr. Chung remains committed to staying current with the latest dental techniques and technology to provide high-quality, compassionate care to all of his patients.
Dr. Chung currently resides in Fairlawn, Ohio. His hobbies include walks in parks, bicycling, music, reading, picnicking, and travel.
Paige Barry, DMD
Dr. Paige Barry was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Marietta College before receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Barry furthered her training by completing a General Practice Residency at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. After graduation, she briefly lived in Pittsburgh before returning home to Northeast Ohio, where she is proud to practice dentistry in Cuyahoga Falls with State Valley Dental. Dr. Barry and her husband, Zack, welcomed their daughter in June 2026 and are enjoying this exciting new chapter together.
Dr. Barry is a proud member of the American Dental Association and Ohio Dental Association. She is passionate about providing patients with high-quality, modern dental care and continues to expand her clinical knowledge through advanced education, including training with Thommen Medical’s Dental Implant Placement Course. In addition, Dr. Barry has received training in Botox therapy for both cosmetic and therapeutic applications. Botox can help soften fine lines and wrinkles while also providing relief for patients suffering from TMJ discomfort, chronic headaches, and teeth grinding (bruxism). Dr. Barry enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and helping ease anxiety while in the dental chair.
In her free time, Dr. Barry enjoys baking, spin classes, and spending time with friends and family.
Angela Marino, DDS
COO, State Valley Dental
Dr. Angela Marino, DDS, has been practicing dentistry in the greater Cleveland-Akron area since 1991. She has been recognized by her peers as a Top Dentist in both Cleveland Magazine and Akron Life Magazine.
Dr. Marino began her education at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where she met her husband, Dr. Carlo Marino, also a dentist in the practice. She completed her General Practice Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, before beginning her career in private practice.
Since 2015, Dr. Marino has pursued extensive advanced training in facial aesthetics, including BOTOX®, dermal fillers, PDO threads, Sculptra®, lip augmentation, and PRP aesthetics through DentaSpa in Miami, Florida—a global leader in aesthetic training exclusively for dental professionals. She is passionate about helping patients achieve natural, dramatic results with minimally invasive treatments that can often be completed in a single visit.
Her professional affiliations include the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics and The Ohio State University President’s Club for Philanthropic Leadership. She is also a proud supporter with the offices of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Dr. Marino is deeply committed to community service through her involvement with Fill This House, a faith based nonprofit organization that provides essential household items to Cleveland-area teens aging out of foster care. She leads an annual holiday collection drive across all practice locations to support this meaningful cause.
Outside the office, Dr. Marino enjoys spending time with her husband and their three sons—Dr. Michael Marino, Steven, and Anthony—as well as her daughter-in-law, Monica. Her personal interests include yoga, cooking, traveling, and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.
Alan Y. Martinez, DDS
As a dedicated student in Honduras, Dr. Alan Martinez completed his lengthy undergraduate studies and advanced to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. In 2005 Dr. Martinez completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with Honors in Perú. By 2006, he relocated to New York to accept an invitation to the prestigious Postdoctoral Program at the Eastman Institute of Oral Health at the University of Rochester. He then moved to Northeast Ohio with his family. In 2014, he underwent Fellowship training in Maxillofacial and Orthognathic Surgery at the Center for Dentofacial Deformities and Corrective Jaw Surgery in New York, NY. Dr. Martinez is a proud Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition, he has been a professor and an author of numerous publications in prestigious scientific journals with many research affiliations.
As a member of the team at Marino Dental on Darrow, Dr. Martinez brings a level of care, understanding and expertise to increase the specialty services available to expand treatment options to our patients. His role has been pivotal in providing Full Mouth Restoration with dental implants at our practice. With this highly technical and advanced treatment, patients can have all of their teeth removed and 4 to 6 implants placed in one arch that artificial teeth permanently attach to, all in one day. This cutting edge treatment allows a patient to have a fixed appliance that restores their ability to speak and eat which restores their function and confidence.
In his spare time Dr. Martinez enjoys spending time with his 2 children, traveling, running, golf and practicing martial arts.
